Total receipts from the 164th International Fur Auction equaled $6 million, which is 40% more than the receipts from the auction held in December 2003 ($4.25 million).
The 164th International Fur Auction took place in Saint-Petersburg on December 7-10, 2004. More then half a million farm and wild fur pelts were put up for sale. 215 guests registered at auction and 108 customers from 12 countries (Russia, Italy, Great Britain, Germany, USA, China and others) took part in it.
The peculiarity distinctive of the 164th International Fur Auction was a lot of customers from China. It was in connection with Sojuzpushnina.s representative body in Beijing, which had been opened in September 2004. The opening of the representative body allows the company to envelop a perspective market. 28 representatives of Chinese fur companies came to 164th Auction.
Collection of farm sable offered to the auction sold on 98% due to high buyer competition. The average price of Sable was $119 per skin, which is 8% more than it was at December auction 2003. The top-lot of Sable was purchased by the "Tsoukas Bros.&Sons" (Greece) for "NIJOLE".
